Why donate to The Surplus Exchange?
|We make it easy to deal with excess and unwanted, but still
usable, business furniture and equipment. By calling the Surplus Exchange,
arrangements can be made for pickup of the materials. We provide you with
an “In-Kind Gifts Receipt” for tax purposes.
|Through The Surplus Exchange, nonprofit organizations in greater
Kansas City have access to furniture and equipment that otherwise would
be too expensive. Shopping at the Surplus Exchange, for items no longer
needed by local businesses, allows nonprofit organizations to spend their
limited dollars on the people they serve. Annually area nonprofits save
in excess of $300,000 on their purchases of reused furniture and equipment
over similar but new items.
|The reuse/and or recycling of used electronics, metals and
other redeemables saves renewable resources from being forever lost in the
dump. It is estimated that, by the year 2005, more than 150 million personal
computers will be resting in America’s landfills. Last year, Surplus Exchange
kept more than 4000 tons of business equipment and furniture from the waste
